Goowy - Desktops In Flash
Filed under: Computing & Internet, Links; No CommentsJust discovered quite the interesting program completely written in Flash …. it’s called Goowy, and it’s a full fledged desktop with RSS reading support, Instant Messaging with all four of the major clients, and even file storage and e-mail. I don’t know if it’s the end all but if you’re in a bind and need something quick, say, at a public computer, this may be a half decent way to go.

One quick thought before I get into the quick movie review … the Arena Grand theater in Columbus is one awesome place to watch a movie! The theater we sat in was very personal (44 people capacity), had all leather seats, was extremely comfortable, and had a huge screen which was as easy to see for the front row as it was for the back row. Very classy place just on the Columbus Arena District, if any of you make the roadie up to town to visit, we’re going there.
Anyways, on to the movie itself … Ice Age: The Meltdown was very good! It wasn’t the longest movie going (1 hour, 40 minutes), but the story was good, a bit silly at times, the animation was very good (not quite Pixar good), but where I think this movie did well, just like the first, is that the voice acting fit the personalities of the characters perfectly. Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, and Denis Leary fit their parts to perfection (you actually thought you were listening to “Raymond” for chunks of the movie, definitely his comedy), and Queen Latifah fit in pretty well herself.
Danielle and I had free tickets from Christmas, but this is worth first run viewing.
