Scooter’s Satellite Gadgetry for December
Filed under: Gadgets, LiveJournal; No CommentsHere’s the latest gadget I bought: a Roady2 Portable Adaptor
The link there is for the radio AND the adapter, and truthfully, if you can get it, do it! It’s the most inexpensive way to turn a satellite radio into a portable device, and from what I have used of it so far, it’s not too bad. The headphones get decent reception, comparable to a nice home antenna, and if you have the home kit, you can combine that and some speakers to turn it into a portable boombox too.
The battery life proports to be about 5 hours, truthfully, it’s more like 3-1/2 to 4, so that’s a weakness, but since I’m not quite at the point to be working out for 3-1/2 to 4 hours at a time, this isn’t an issue. Maybe someday it will be!
The price in that link, $60, is awesome. It’ll get you the receiver, car kit, and portable kit, and then for next to nothing, you’re online with satellite radio. It’s hard to go back, VERY hard.
P.S. - The Roady2, when it’s not plugged into the portable kit, has a FM transmitter with it, so you could in theory use it as a boombox with the home plugins, it just doesn’t look as “chic” or well put together.

One totally awesome year with Danielle! The best year of my life, hands down. Not because I have not had other wonderful things happen in my life, that couldn’t be farther from the truth (the only truly bad year I recall was 1993-1994). But instead, I’ve gotten to spend this year with a significant other, live my life for someone else, and enjoy everything in my life equally with someone whom I know I’m going to spend the rest of my life with (that’s good stuff!)
That makes my shortcomings for the year seem not as important. I didn’t game nearly as much as I would have liked, still have plenty of gut to get rid of, and too many bills, but that’s why they have resolutions for 2006, so that’s all on the table.
If this year upcoming is half as good as 2005 was, it will be something special. Of course, since I love Danielle so much, I know it won’t be half as good … it’ll be twice as good.

Halo 2 4v4 - January 21st - $800 Ca$h/Prizes
Filed under: Game Junkie; No CommentsIt’s worth mentioning to the blog readers here that Game Junkie’s next Halo 2 4v4 Tournament is a little more then 2 weeks away, and the number of people asking about it is already immense.
The rules are what most of our regulars know … very true to MLG with a 2-out-of-3 setup for the eliminations, and single elimination Free-For-All’s to determine whom is seeded where.
Our last tournament had a decent turnout but I expect this one to be huge! The sign-up deal is standard … $100 for a team if you signup on 1/18 or before (but don’t wait until then!), and $120 after that. We’re getting the doors open at 10:00 AM, and the registrations will close (and the event will begin promptly) at 10:30 with the first round of FFA’s.
Don’t be late, and definitely do attend this, it’s gonna be huge!
