Hacking the 360 for good: No more disc scatches!
Filed under: Blogger, Video Games; No CommentsOk, this won’t eliminate the possibility of your 360 games becoming scratched, but it will help make sure it’s not the system (or potentially any moving of the system) that causes it.
This guide shows you where to put foam or sponge pieces in order to keep the disc from touching the laser and scratching should the worst case happen. It does require some disassembly of the 360, so make sure you do this after the 90 day warranty is dead and gone!
I’m a little shocked that with these machines supposedly costing $520 to make for a premium deck with the goodies that they couldn’t spare 10 cents of sponge parts (I know, I make these at my main job!) to help keep this problem away.
Tell Microsoft that AST Sales will be happy to quote them on these sponge pieces!
