The vidcaps are coming for 3D Fighters!

On November 29, 2005, in Blogger, Game Junkie, by sav2880

Seeing as I need to clear out the videos I have now and get ready for Smash this weekend, I’ve decided to get off my butt and get the video captures online for Naruto 3 and for Soul Calibur 3 as well.

The good news is that I’m gonna use a ton of different methods for distribution. I’ve begun uploading to Google Video (just search for game junkie and they should be up soon), as well as rapidshare.de, and willvolution for the Naruto videos, AND I think there is a video depot
for Soul Calibur too (although on further check, it appears to be closed now)

So keep an eye out, the videos should be coming out very soon! I’ll also have some media in store for people to pick up to watch the videos on their computers or dvd players locally.

Riding along in my two-tone-mobile ….

On November 28, 2005, in Danielle, LiveJournal, Personal, by sav2880

So sometimes you see things that make you do a double take when you’re on the road … this is true for anyone, especially at weird times of the night and when you’re not feeling 100%. It’s not every day you see a burning building!

I’m driving home from my friend Susan’s (the person whom hooked Danielle and I up), and I was in my car my myself (I met Danielle there from working on Friday, so we’re each driving ourselves to her place). My eyes are burning cause I was having an allergic reaction to Susan’s cat (worse then normal, my right eye was pretty bloodshot), and while I’m driving fine, I look over about halfway through route 104, and there’s a burning building on the left side!

It took me about 10 seconds to grasp what I had saw and make the mental note that I needed to call 911 and let them know what I just saw, which I did, and I gave them the best directions I could, being an out of towner. I think I found one news story about it, and from what I gather, it was an abandoned building.

But it’s still weird to be driving down the road, and with one and a half eyes see something that looks like it’s a house on fire. Thank goodness I didn’t hear more about it the next morning!

Cheap UPS Anyone?

On November 28, 2005, in LiveJournal, Mac, PC / Windows, by sav2880

This one’s for the techies in the house …

I’m looking for a very affordable UPS for my home computer(s), for the reason of needing something to make it through annoying power failures. Even though I’m living in a fairly suburban area right now, it seems as though the power gets knocked out for repairs often on Saturday mornings, and sometimes, will flicker (possibly due to having lots of stuff on certain circuits).

I’m not looking to spend much and I need no frills (I don’t even need any kind of system management for it), just a decent battery to only provide the computer box itself with a small amount of backup time (30 minutes maybe).

Thoughts or links from anyone? I’ll have more soon.

Privateer Remake

On November 3, 2005, in Links, LiveJournal, PC / Windows, Video Games, by sav2880

From the category of “I’m gonna blog it before I forget it again!”

http://wcuniverse.sourceforge.net

It’s a remake of the original Wing Commander Privateer game. It broke my heart that when I went to a Pentium system, I couldn’t play this game anymore due to the speed throttling issues (or lack thereof), then I forgot about the game until I saw this. I was never a huge WC player, but this game due to its open-ended gameplay (you know, before it was cool to do open-ended), and good battles, always had my interest.

Found about it from this page:

Whew! Now I can reference it!
