    LiveWidget!

    Filed under: LiveJournal, Mac;

So this is my first foree into a LiveJournal Widget, and so far, it’s basic (which is fine for me) and also pretty good too. For me, I certainly don’t need the second coming of anything in order to use LJ, I don’t use a ton of style, some links, and not many pixtures, so this will work well.

I’ll post more of the vacation on it tonight!

So I think in the song “Big Man On Mulberry Street” by Billy Joel, he said he was taking the el-train to Canal Street. Not exactly the same for me, ours was taking the Amtrak from Canal Street!

For those of you whom did not know, I’m nowhere to be found in the ‘natti right now. Nope, can’t find me, I’ve left the building! At the moment I write this, 11:23 pm central, I’m on an Amtrak train headed back from Chicago to Toledo, and we’ll drive the remainder back to Columbus tonight. The train is rather nice, but it is running behind sadly, to the tune of 45 minutes, so we’ll be in Toledo at 1:45, and home at 4:15. I have co-workers at my main job whom wake up this early!

It also marks a pair of 20 hour plus days in a row. 23 hours yesterday, then 8 hours sleep, then 20 more hours today. It’s cause me and Danielle didn’t want to rest at all, wanted to see everything. And while in truth we never made it far from Michigan Avenue and the Magnificent Mile, it was still so much fun!!

The only negative so far? Well, two. We went to Kingston Mines to listen to blues music, but didn’t make it a half hour before hitting complete exhaustion, and the fact I can’t get myself to sleep on this train ride! Danielle is happily passed out, hand on my tummy, right next to be now. But I’m so warm, I can’t do the same!

More on Chicago soon, just felt compelled to post. The ride isn’t exciting, wanted to catch up on the blogging!

So I have totally been lagging when it comes to talking about my most current addiction, but there is no better time to catch up then the present. It’s Hot Shots Golf Open Tee!

In about a two day period (or not even … from end of my main job Friday to coming it to the ‘J on Saturday), I took my character from having played a couple of rounds, to advancing up 2 ranks and having 2 unlocked characters! I’m most proud of the round right before I left for the store: I had 10 minutes before I had to leave, I finished 9 holes in 9 minutes and went 8-under par, my best score yet, finished off with an Eagle on 18!

    More later, leaving work! :)

Finally, something to do with Conker that’s not a demo disc! It’s plush, cute, and well, 100% authentic to what you’d expect out of this rude little squirrel!

He’s $12.99 and in stock now!

I won’t be at Friday Night Live tonight sadly. Why you ask? I’ll be doing work for my uncle for Covington Turners at their Lodlow Derby event. It’s yearly, it gets mentioned on big radio stations (was on 1360 HOMER today my uncle was!), and gets about 1,200 people at it.

But, it’s nowhere to be found on the internet! Search “Ludlow Derby” on Google, no mentions of it! In fact, this blog entry will likely serve as its only mention!

In one sense, it’s refreshing to know that something I do in my life doesn’t revolve around the Internet and a computer … oh wait, not so much, I’m doing computer work on my uncle’s laptop for Turner’s tonight too! So much for that! Oh well, I guess then it can integrate into the net like it should.

What it really means is that sometime, when I get … well, time (which may be never, ask Matt about being stressed to suddenly receive time!), I need to make them a web page like Wayne’s wanted me to do. Talk about a great way to do maintenance and get lifetime membership!

Guess I’ll put that one on the schedule for, say … 2008? :-)

Without a Madden game to go “Boom!” and save their profits, it seems like the Borg otherwise known as Electronic Arts is suffering from both reluctance from customers to buy games, and the transition of generations, lost earnings, and lost 10% of their stock price.

I guess I’d feel bad if I wasn’t still a bit bitter for the Madden NFL License buyout. :-)
