Ok, I guess every blog needs a post like this, but then again, that is why you blog, not only to be imformative, but to be theraputic.
Anyways, the moral of the story is this: I think about 90% of the things that I don’t do well are based in two principles that I am weak in:
* Punctuality - Just being where I need to be at the time I need to be there. If I wanted to break this down farther, I could by saying that there are two issues here … one is that I am overly optimistic with how quickly I can get things done. A 30 minute car trip which really should be 40, and then I don’t account for traffic, for example, and then you’re shot for the night.
The second side of it is not being a morning person, and getting off to a late start. If you do that, you’re screwed, planning or no planning.
* Finishing - I am the king of starting things, and never finishing them. People who know me best know how long it has been since I beat a video game. I guess that sounds like a small thing in reality, but just the fact that is still out there bugs me.
And that carries over into jobs and home stuff. Cleaning, projects on my desk, they all sit and often, get dumped onto someone else because I don’t finish them, it sucks.
So I guess where we go from here is, what’s the answer? Well, I guess this is where comments and future posts come in!
