This is when you know you’re depressed: when your lack of luck in dating and relationships becomes a number, a statistic. When the real emotion isn’t there and the logic of it creeps into play. Cause love isn’t logical, and when it will happen, hit you like a ton of bricks, when you will meet that person isn’t precidtable … it can be helped along with effort (which has not been my strong point), but it can’t be predicted. When it happens, you just know, and there isn’t a thing you can do about it (which is good!)

My lack of “mojo” as Danielle reminded me of this morning (best 8 AM call I’ve gotten in a long time!) for so long was nothing more then a number, a source of decimals that can only lead to depression. Sixty-two, then Forty-Two more. You won’t know what those numbers mean, except that my own lack of confidence and pursuit of relationships for so long has made these two numbers (at different times) something that hurt and made me very lonely.

But now there is a new number … as of right now, it’s forty-one. The number of hours until it’s 5 PM on Saturday when I’ll be in Columbus and going out with Danielle. And unlike those past numbers, which only add, and never can incrementally go away, this number will drift to nothing. And when the number is gone, silly things like logic and numbers won’t matter. All that will matter is the moment, and the time that moves too quick, and getting to know Danielle more and more.

I haven’t hoped so hard for that ton of bricks to hit as I do right now!

The other thing that surprises me so much and yet makes me feel unblievably good: I’m not nervous. Seems like that I am meeting Danielle for the first time in person on Saturday, I should be worried, nervous, anxious, and I’m just not. Maybe it’s just that I believe we’re very compatible, or that, as the previous blog post said, that “it’s not just me”, but those jitters and nerves are just not there. I’m excited, I can’t wait, and it will be me and Danielle becoming closer, and I have no reason to believe it won’t go well.

I don’t say that either as the normal “guy” mentality of thinking, that one could say some event, or the single aspect of physicality, is the judge. This will be something true, something complete, in all aspects, and the growth, emotionally, physically, spiritually, will happen all in the right time and speed as it’s meant to … this is something I believe will be a true and genuine relationship, for sure not fleeting.

And just think … in the time I wrote this, that last number is now forty and a half! :-)

So here comes part 2 of “The story of Christmas as explained by a Toyota Camry”

I was running around to get all of the last minute gifts for my parents, cause like any good 24-year old guy, Christmas shopping season is from 3 PM to 6 PM Christmas Eve! I mean, that is the official start time, right? :)

So anyways, I’m on the last leg, with my mom calling me asking where I am (which of course I don’t want to tell her that I’m buying her gifts, figured she wouldn’t take too nicely to that), pulling out of the TGI Friday’s lot near their house, which is a very narrow parking lot, and as I am, the minivan on the other side doesn’t see me and plows right into my bumper. I watched it happen, sucks when you know it’s coming and can’t do anything about it.

So here’s the other side of the story … he was an off duty police officer! So, getting a cop out to file a report was no big deal and as there were no issues as it was his fault. The only negative was that as of the 30th (when I wrote this), my insurance company had not gotten the report of it so I had to report it to them (maybe protocol, but not as the reporting officer had said).

So in the end, an annoyance, not the end of the world. Let me assure any reader of this .. two months ago, this is the thing that puts me over the edge. I’m still on such a high looking forward to meeting Danielle, my only thought is that no minor fender bender will keep me from meeting her on the 1st, so why be bothered by it?

That’s how you know life ain’t too bad!

Well, it’s New Year’s Eve, and it’s Friday, so the math seems good for us to bring in 2005 with New Year’s Eve Night Live tonight!

The hours are a little bit different tonight, 10 PM to 2 AM, the cover is still the same, $10, and you get your choice of any of our great energy drinks (as well as non-carbonated choices like iced tea and Gatorade), but the fun and partying will be just as big as it always is! Plus, this is the best place in town to welcome in 2005 if you’re 16 and up (14 and 15 is cool with parents’ permission) and looking for a place to chill out and have a great time with peers instead of parents.

We’ll have a Bawls toast at Midnight, so that you won’t run out of energy once 2005 is here, as well as the normal pizza and tournaments, and the promise of ONLY showing Regis Philbin when we direly have to as the ball comes down on 2004.

Tell friends, heck, tell your enemies too so you can whoop up on them in Halo 2, but we’re hoping for a great crowd. It’s been a great 2004 for our Friday Night Live events, averaging over 35 people per week. It’s that kind of passionate following that keeps me for one going and enjoying everything that we do on a daily basis, and I hope that we can do even more to make you love Game Junkie in 2005. THANK YOU ALL!

So I had a full ball of steam to do some writing and play with my new USB Pen Drive (complete with w.bloggar program) … until the end of Wednesday came around, and I lost it! I think I was wiping snow off some of the cars in the lot when it got separated from my neckband, and thus fell to the ground somewhere, prolly in a snow drift now. Kinda sucks to lose something that quickly that you had some hope of putting to good use, but, as they say, crap does happen, and thankfully it wasn’t too expensive (and now I’m Internet shopping for a better option, maybe a 1 GB drive for a similar price!)

It won’t be quick. Car maintenance at 100,000 miles is upcoming. How crazy is that for a lot of driving, I got my car at the start of ‘02 with 5,000 miles. Three years later, 100,000!

So in the attempt to find the ultimate blogging program, I have come to one called w.bloggar. It’s got hard work to do: It’s got to convince me to give up the Blogger interface and unique programs for the Mac (Phoenix) and the PC (Semagic).

    Here’s what I like:

    • While HTML updating kind of stinks, I do like the HTML tags being automatically color coded.
    • Of course, the multi-program functionality is very nice
    • One more bit of love, it remembered my last open document and re-opened it when I came back.

Well, we’ll let this be the test. I found someone talking about this on a “what’s in your keychain” post, so we’ll see how well I end up liking it!

Well, it’s official, the snow is here and it’s here with a vengeance! As of right now (2:22 PM EST), I’m at my main job in Kentucky and we have about 3 inches on the ground, and it’s worse north of here, so I am sure it’s very treacherous in West Chester right now.

That said, we would love you to stop in the next couple of days, but above all, be safe! If the weather is too much, don’t worry, our great games will be here once the salt trucks hit the road, and we will be open Friday once it’s hopefully much better (albeit bitter cold!).

I do not know for sure if our hours will change due to the bad weather. If they do, we will alert customers via our e-mail list, and the blog page here. In the meantime, bunker in, jump online, and it’s likely we’ll be there too later tonight!

Talked to her tonight, am totally excited! Not even 10 inches of snow and the premise of a two hour drive to work can tame my want for 2004 to just end, and quickly, cause that means it’s January 1st, and I’m in Columbus meeting her in person, which is all good.

So back to a couple of days ago … I posted the lyrics for the song in the subject for comsumption. What it amounts to is simple yet powerful: everyone has crushes, people they like, people they would do anything to have them know how much they like them. I feel this way right now towards the girl I’m meeting in Columbus (note my lack of details … this is a public blog after all, sometimes, vagueness is good).

But, there is nothing that makes a heart flutter or miss a beat, or makes everything in life worth it more then knowing you aren’t the only person whom has the feeling, of like, or love, or wherever in the spectrum it can be. It can happen anytime, anywhere, but the moment you know it’s not just you is powerful, emotional, it’s everything.

When she tells me that she wants to meet me as much as I want to meet her, I have that feeling, that it is not just me, it only makes me happier and warms my heart that much more … and makes me want 2004 to end (sorry, good year, but I’m ready for ‘05!)

The song exerts all of those feelings, in its melody, its pace, and message, which eventually leads to a charged last verse … and it’s a country song! Thank goodness they ALL don’t follow the stereotype!

Have you heard? The snow’s coming! In Cincinnati, that’s equivalent to the “White Death” and everyone hitting every hardware store up for the last bit of salt, and the grocery stores for milk and bread.

We know if you’re reading the JunkieBlog, you’re smarter and that and you don’t panic, but if we are getting 6-10 inches of snow, it won’t be fun to fight. So, stay inside and play some games, and better yet, get online with the biggest release of the year, Halo 2!

Game Junkie wants to hook you up, and that’s why we’re selling you the Halo 2 Limited Edition for the lowest price in the city (maybe the country!), $48.99. Most stores wouldn’t dream of putting this on sale, it’s too popular and too much of a big seller. But, we want to hook you up for the Holiday season, and the upcoming snowstorms, so you can get all of the cool additions, the metal case, the special second DVD, for less then you will pay for the regular version anywhere else!

Not only that, but Game Junkie has all of the accessories to get you going online right now, including XBox Live 1-Year kits, 3-month kits, replacement communicators, and the Halo 2 Headset, which not only looks cool in translucent green, but might be the most unique and confortable headset ever devised for a console system.

All of your favorite Junkies are online playing it too. I’m happy to report that I got my butt handed to me last night by some of our other regulars! (Don’t believe me? Here’s the link!) We’ll be online letting some of our holiday stress off online for sure this weekend, so if the football games get boring, or you just have to try your new game from under the tree, post a comment here with your gamertag (you don’t have to register with Blogger to comment now, but do identify yourself when you make a comment), and maybe we’ll find you this weekend!

Just another way Game Junkie helps you get your gaming fix this season!

If you loved the original Wario Ware Inc. Mega Microgame$ game for Game Boy Advance and GameCube, everyone’s favorite bad guy is back for more micro-game action! We just got in “Mawaru Made In Wario” (as it is known in Japan) for the GBA to help you get your Wario fix.

The game, much like its predecessor, has been critically acclaimed in Japan, including this story from 1up.com (you can catch the entire story here)

Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs today announced the prize winners in its eighth annual Media Art Festival, and Nintendo has walked away with the grand prize. Mawaru Made In Wario, the new mini-game collection powered by the Game Boy Advance tilt-sensor cartridge, took a top honor in the Entertainment category.

“Entertainment” is a catch-all grouping for anything that doesn’t fit in the competition’s other three categories, which cover comics, animation, and more traditional artforms. The new Wario game beat out some 202 submissions in the category, ranging from games to music videos to websites.

The Agency praised the game’s innovative design and ability to appeal to a wide range of players. Mawaru (coming stateside next spring as Wario Ware Twisted) features a broad selection of quick mini-games that are controlled solely by moving, spinning, and tilting the GBA.

We have a couple copies of this game in stock for you to get right now. It’s cool looking cartridge design allows you to control games through the twisting motions, only making your favorite old micro-games that much more challenging.

DS fans aren’t left in the dust either. Made In Wario Touched will soon be available again at Game Junkie for all of you DS players, and features a new array of micro-games specially designed for the touch screen and and other cool new Nintendo DS features. Our first shipment of the game was limited to only a single copy, but we should be restocking just after Christmas (and you can always pre-order too!)

Just another way that you can get great import games from Game Junkie and no where else!
