This Week’s Sale Games: Oct. 11th
Filed under: Blogger, Game Junkie; No Comments“Scooter here from JunkieFM, you know the best takedown action in Silver Lake is at …. ” AAAAAAAHHHHHH! TOO MUCH BURNOUT 3! THE DJ IS IN MY HEAD! WHY MUST THAT GAME BE SOOOO GOOD!!!!!
So aside from the DJ right there, I suppose that I should tell you what games are on sale this week, as well as my takes on those games. With that said, in the words of the great Captain from MXC, “get it on!”
Hot Shots Golf FORE! (PS2) - $33.99 ($6 Savings)
Driv3r (PS2/XB) - $43.99 ($6 Savings)
Pikmin 2 (GC) - $43.99 ($6 Savings)NCAA Football 2005 (PS2/XB/GC) - $41.99 ($8 Savings)
Spiderman 2 (PS2/XB/GC) - $41.99 ($8 Savings)- I’ve been a big fan of the Hot Shots Golf series since the old PS1 days. The camera on this version seems to flutter a bit more then it did on past versions, but the mechanics are still there … a simple to play yet mildly amusing golf game. Nothing fancy, certainly not Tiger Woods’ depth (or wife) … but nonetheless, good fun golf to play.
- Pikmin 2 and NCAA Football and SpiderMan 2 (in my opinion) are “Pixel’s Picks” good, and being a sports fan, thank goodness the NCAA Football game, the only option to play college football on the consoles this year, is thankfully a great one, and with XBox Live too.
- Driv3r didn’t wow the critics by any stretch. It had huge hype, and turned out to be good, but not as good as the hype would have it be.
So that’s my take on them …. pick ‘em up, help us move a few of each of these off the shelves, and of course try them before you buy them (save those rental costs and the hassle of buying a game you turn out not to like) … but for parents, Driv3r is M-Rated, so feel free to ask the ‘junkie of your choice why that’s the case.
Peace out yo! More posts later.

This is a friendly reminder from someone who doesn’t work out, well, at all …. you run for like 3 hours doing video game skits, no warmup, no ahead-of-time practice, and then the next day you wake up, limber, feeling good … it’s all a ploy!! I still for the last day now have barely been able to move my calf muscles, and I’m walking as stiff as a board (and sure not light as a feather!).
The results of the work were cool, I saw some of the raw footage last night of the skits, and they were pretty good. There was a lot of it I didn’t watch though. It’s weird, I don’t mind being a little crazy “live”, but seeing it back on film kinda scares me, makes me a little self conscious. It’s like, “I did what?”
But all and all, I bet when we get to showing this on Saturday, I’ll be laughing my butt off and it will be great for everyone involved …. Matt and Adam (Mario and Wario) did have by far the best costumes, and it wil show.
Oh yes, I just found out that I don’t think I’m getting a holiday day for Christmas or New Year’s Day since they are on Saturday this year from the main job …. bunch of louses in Louisville, apparently their handbook says weekend holidays are at “company discretion”, but we did get 7/3 off for 7/4 (I bet their boss had a trip that day). This will surely hit the fan soon, I supe hope it does.
Time to update the JunkieBlog. More here later.
