Filed under: Blogger, Game Junkie; No CommentsYou know what happens when you let a loony out to compose e-mails without checking them? You get the Scooter messing up dates!
For those who read the first e-mail … and thought we were nuts … and then read the second … and thought I was sleep deprived? Well. Yes.
Anyways, Halo 2 Tournament …. NOVEMBER 13th. Saturday. That’s the day. We’re serious … no really!
Well anyways, we hope you find our e-mails useful … and sometimes amusing too when we don’t proofread them as well as we should, we’re tryin’ dangit!

Storm ETA: November
Filed under: AST Sales, LiveJournal; No CommentsI see a storm brewing in my work life …. it goes something like this:
Of course, at the office in Walton, I’m the computer guy. Something breaks, I look at it. A salesman’s computer gets a virus, I’m deployed to fix it. It’s like being an IT guy, WITHOUT being an IT guy. Good for the company, and I like it.
Except, whenever I get moved onto one of those computer-type jobs, other inside sales dude gets all mad and worried, and about every 30 minutes will remind me of something to make sure I do on the sales desk too …. the kind of attitude that says he doesn’t like me doing that, except, it’s my (and his) superiors that also want me to be the computer bitch.
Isn’t work fun?!

Are you ready!!!
Filed under: Bengals, LiveJournal; No CommentsI’m headed to Monday Night Football! A full report to follow.
And here it is …. WHO DEY!!!!!!!!!!It was so good to see this team do things that were dynamic and aggressive. Chad Johnson got his “drops” out of the way on the first drive and after that made a couple of spectacular catches, the kind of things we know he is capable of.
And, their defense made up for its lack of size with pressure on Jake Plummer, who did not look good and made only one really solid pass all night, his only touchdown pass.
The crowd in the club seats was excited, standing a lot of the night, and very much into the game too. Talk about something ELSE that isn’t seen in Cincy very much.

Another one bites the dust …
Filed under: Commentary, LiveJournal; No CommentsSay goodbye to the latest “manufactured” pop singer, Ashlee Simpson. I can’t help but just find the fopaa funny, and sadly typical of what I would expect from a, sorry, dumber-then-her-sister (whom I’ve read is more intelligent then she’d lead on to) pop star whom, the one time I did hear her sing live (or so I think), she didn’t sound that good.
And can we talk about how it makes her look, well, not even versed in her own music, that she couldn’t improvise and go with the song that was playing. I totally grant that when you are on Live TV (prolly on that kind of stage for the first time ever), nerves hit, something goes wrong, and you panic, and then have to make an explanation for it.
That said though, lip syncing seems to be the cardinal sin when it’s caught and this was, and for someone like her whom just made it to the big time, does it mean that she’ll be a one hit wonder, and that will be all we see?

Half.Com GOTD: Dino Crisis 3
Filed under: Blogger; No CommentsToday’s Half.Com GOTD is Dino Crisis 3, the first release of this game on the newer generation systems (XBox to be exact). The game was rated a 6.0 by IGN.com, so it’s far from a classic, but still a solid action game.
It’s more quicker paced as it’s set in a futuristic spaceship where dinosaur eggs are discovered, and attempt to take over the spaceship after being dormant for thousands of years (believable? Of course not, but it makes for a good video game plot!). It’s still a $30 game new at retail, but we’ve got it on Half.Com right now for $20.99 for purchase. We’ll ship it to you or you can come into the store and pick it up if you would like.
A fun side of the Half.Com stuff … we’ve shipped to 49 of 50 states and to Puerto Rico! The only state we haven’t shipped to? Well … comment and guess, I’ll give a prize to the first correct guess!
You can find the link to the half.com GOTD directly HERE.
Also, feel free to e-mail me with any questions on the Half.Com GOTD or the upcoming Halo 2 Tournament!

Ugh …. Friday Night … so happy but so tired. Quick status reports:
Main Job: It’s going better …. made it in every day since Tuesday with a few minutes to spare, and got a lot of orders done, but even with that, there’s still like 40 to do, and my dad’s gonna write some up tomorrow (which scares me …. cause as good as my dad is at all this stuff, and the computer system is good too, but he’s dangerous!)
And then I left for FNL work. Will post more soon.

Halo 2 Tournament & Pre-Orders
Filed under: Blogger, Game Junkie; No CommentsNo, this is not your moment to panic … all is still well on Halo 2 and having it for you.
But, it’s time to start planning for not just that Monday Night, but for the upcoming Saturday and our Halo 2 tournament! If you think you’re going to be coming to it, we’d love to know and we’d love for you to RSVP your spot. Better yet, with the game coming out, there’s no better way to take care of everything then to add the Halo 2 Tournament to your pre-order! Here’s the advantages:
* You secure the early entry price ($10 for one event and $15 for both events per person), even if you don’t pick up your Halo 2 game until after Wednesday the 10th, the normal “early entry” deadline.
* Should this tournament get big, and we have to close entry (I would the thrilled to death to see 100 people come out and play at this event, and that would have to be above capacity!), your spot would be reserved.
* It helps us gauge how many people will be attending and allows us to more accurately state how much there will be in prize money.
So it does help us out, and it can help you out too by planning ahead and being able to be ready for the tournament when it comes up …. you’ll only have 5 days to practice for it, so there’s no time to waste once our Midnight Release Party hits!
Have questions about the tournament? E-Mail Scooter about it directly or e-mail the store!

Pokemon Tournament - Reminder!
Filed under: Blogger, Game Junkie; No CommentsJust a reminder that tomorrow IS the Pokemon FireRed / LeafGreen tournament at the store. We’ll be getting it started around Noon, and registration will end at around 11:30 AM, so make sure to be there early. While we’re not expecting people to stuff the store full, there’s gonna be a lot of gameplay for those who enter! Here’s a quick summary:
- We’re gonna do all the matches using the Arena mode of Pokemon Colosseum. Trey will check in the cartridges when they are brought in to make sure they will work ok.
- Players will need to have a team of 6 Pokemon ready: two at Level 70 max, two at Level 50 max, and two at Level 30 max.
- There will be four separate single elimination brackets for different types of singles and doubles matches. The winner of each bracket (or Top 4 qualifiers should someone win two brackets) will go double elimination for a chance to face off against the “Elite Four” and win bigger prizes!
Entry tomorrow morning is $15, but if you attend FNL tonight, you can enter for the early price of $10, so definitely do both to get the “double” price. We’d love to see everyone after the Lakota East vs. Lakota West game tonight!
It’s also never too late to hit me with any questions you may have. Just send me some mail HERE!

Just wanted to give everyone an update on the goings in the GameJunkie Test League this week:
- Scooter won his second straight game with an solid passing performance over Stephen, 35-21. Stephen did have great success with the big play, completing multiple long touchdown passes with his Packers to Robert Ferguson, netting him 231 receiving yards on a mere 4 catches!
- Bob’s Colts manhandled Chad’s Chiefs with a big 38-10 win to move into a share of first place in the league at 4-1. His balanced attack had Payton Manning throwing for 210 yards, and Edgerrin James with 180 yards.
- In what may be one of the biggest upsets of the season, Greg’s Falcons controlled the clock and kept Matt’s Eagles and Donovan McNabb in check, winning 20-3. Greg came out with his normal rushing attack, putting up 160 yards rushing, but Matt was not able to match, ending up with less then 100 yards of total offense and 2 interceptions.
In the end, Bob and Matt are tied at 4-1 with Matt having the tiebreaker due to his win, and Scooter and Greg are tied with 3-2 records. Adam and the Professor have yet to play their Week 5 game but will in the next couple of days. So it’s a tight race, and the most fun I for one have had on XBox Live in quite a while (although Burnout 3 Online is good, and Halo 2 will be great)
We’re still trying to get that 16 team league going on XBox Live and ESPN NFL 2K5, the League Name is GameJunkie and the password is mario. Feel free to comment here with any questions you may have, we’d love to get one more football league going before this season ends!

Yesterday, in a day that began badly and ended up being alright, I remembered how my mom always told me to clean up my room. I’ll be danged if every now and then, it doesn’t actually help me out!
I say this … up until Sunday evening, my room was cluttered mess, stuff in every corner, a closet door packed with stuff so full that the door wouldn’t close, not to mention the tray table blocking it. My bedroom had no room, and it didn’t leave me with any sense of optimism for the day ahead of me.
The first change was free and very cool: I got a futon! Actually, one of the couch / fold-out bed style futons, which is great. The thing is monsterous as a couch so much so that I’m most comfortable sitting on it indian style (and I’m not small, so that gives you an idea). As a bed, it’s the same size as my old bed was. The futon mattress is a little weak, so its support isn’t perfect, but the advantage is … it was free! I can always buy a new futon mattress later, and when it’s a couch, my room completely opens up.
It also gave me the incentive to clean in there. Three bags of garbage later, it’s not perfect, but it’s sure much closer.
More to this post later.
